About
Jager's Dance
More than just a studio
about us
How it all began
It all started in 1999 when Ronald Jager relocated from the Netherlands to the UK with an idea – to set up a premier dance & events venue in Manchester. From 2004, Jager’s began teaching in our first location, “The Pennine Lounge”, Oldham. Since then, we’ve gone from strength to strength, opening our current “State of the Art” HQ at Earl Mill, Oldham and most recently, in our 9th business year, a new location in Glossop. The dream was always to have a large, sprung ballroom floor, large car park and easy access to the M60 corridor. Did we deliver? Yes, we did.
The Principal
Ronald Jager
Ronald Jager has been the director of Jager’s Dance & Events since its founding in 1999.Teaching for over twenty-two years, he has trained many dancers who have gone to win at National and International levels, have professional careers and many more who have gained a lifelong love of dance. Through the guidance of some fabulous mentors, since retiring 18 years ago, he has built up a wealth of teaching experience helping students developing their dancing at a top-class level. When he’s isn’t at the studio, you may have spotted him making appearances on Jools Holland or The Last Detective too.

Natasha
“If I could have any superpower, I would love to be able to fly. I love trying new foods from all over the world and love spending time with family and friends whenever possible.”
Katie
“My favourite animals are butterflies and dogs. I’ve danced since I was 4 years old and I’ve now got a BA Hons in Dance. My life motto is ‘Everything happens for a reason’.”
Barry & Amanda
“Barry once flew a plane. Amanda has run, jogged, fainted and walked over 50k for cancer research. We met at Jagers, have two beautiful boys, and the rest is history.”
Matthew
Annie
“I moved to Italy at the age of 17 on my own to live and compete over there. I’m fluent in Italian, and before I moved away to dance, my other dream was to be on a Broadway stage in London.”
Colin & Barbara
“We both like reading, meeting new people, going on holidays and playing table tennis. Colin is a Laurel & Hardy fan, and Barbara likes watching soaps on TV.”
Oldham Studio
Bespoke Events
We always wanted to make the most of our beautiful space at Earl Mill. So, as well as being a dance school, we rent out our Oldham studio to those looking for an event venue. Not only have we hosted fabulous events such as Red-Carpet nights, Venetian Balls, Gala Balls, and even James Bond-themed nights, but we’ve also catered for many weddings, private parties, and anniversaries. We have a professional approach to everything we do here, and you can see this throughout our business. And it’s this attention to detail that’s lead clients, like the NHS and the BBC, to hold some of their team building days with us too.
